  • Malaysian carrier AirAsia X saw freight volumes rise 13 percent, year-over-year, to 19,714 tonnes in the nine months of 2012, with 7,251 tonnes transported during the third quarter. The long-haul arm of the low-fare airline also carried 640,000 passengers in the third quarter, which represents growth of 40 percent over the same period in 2011 on continuing routes.
  • Air Logistics Group has opened a new facility in Estonia, boosting its Eastern European network. The Air Logistics Group now operates 64 facilities across 40 countries, with offices recently opened in South Africa and Australia.
  • Swissport International has signed a ground-handling contract with fastjet, a new, African low-cost carrier. Under the new deal, Swissport will assume responsible for service delivery and support supply-chain growth throughout the fastjet network.
