The aircraft made its first commercial flight from Seattle via Hong Kong to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport and will continue to operate on ABC’s existing Europe-Asia-U.S. route network via the carrier’s Moscow hubs.
ABC is gradually replacing the older equipment in its fleet and the new delivery takes the average age of its aircraft down to 4.1 years. The all-cargo operator’s fleet now consists of five 747-400ERFs, three 747-400Fs and three 747-8Fs. The stretch freighter has 4,200 cu ft more space than the 747-400, or seven additional pallet positions, and is also 15 percent more fuel efficient.
