The week in brief

By control on April 12, 2013
  • U-Freight Group’s Dalian China Express International Transportation shipped extra long cargo (pictured right) through Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport that required airport authorities to temporarily remove a length of handrails to allow the safe handling of a very long flat-bedded truck. The cargo, which arrived from Europe onboard an Antonov AN-124, was made up of seven items that weighed 66 tonnes in total and included two oil pipes.
  • Toll Global Forwarding will move to a brand new UK headquarters building at London Heathrow Airport in October. The new facility, which is on a secure 2.65 acre compound, will include 50,000 square feet of warehousing featuring eight truck docks, a cargo handling system, storage for 1,200 pallets and a large chiller for perishables.
