DB Schenker is consolidating its Air Freight, Ocean Freight and Land Transport Board Divisions to create a new division named, simply, Freight. Under the leadership of Ewald Kaiser, currently a member of the management board for land transport, DB Schenker hopes to bring the three product areas closer together to “improve integrated transport products and services and make better use of growth potential.” The changes go into effect January 1, 2017.
“By reducing the number of members on the Management Board from seven to six and reorganizing the board divisions, we intend to satisfy market requirements for fast and consistent solutions for our customers and to serve as a role model for creating more efficient structures”, said Jochen Thewes, CEO of Schenker AG.
The changes include reducing the board from seven to six, improving integrated transport product services. A new organizational unit, Global Land Transport, will standardize and advance the development of land transport outside Europe.
