In the latest shake-up within the fragmented ground-handling sector, United Airlines launched its new ground-handling service, called United Ground Express, on Aug. 10. The new unit is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines, but it will remain a separate company, with its own website: unitedgroundexpress.com.
United Ground Express will provide airport ground-handling services – including customer service, station operations and ramp and cargo services – at select airports around United’s domestic system.
The new company will begin service this fall at select stations, and will also provide ground handling for United’s new service to and from Kalamazoo, Mich., starting Dec. 9.
