Despite a lagging Russian economy, AirBridgeCargo (ABC) reported a remarkable 20 percent increase in traffic for the first quarter, compared to the same quarter last year, carrying nearly 104,000 tonnes across its network, from its hub in Moscow. By focusing on cost efficiency, the carrier also reported a 20 percent reduction in operational costs for the first quarter.
Executive president Denis Ilin said the company reached a 28 percent growth, year-over-year, in FTK in the first quarter performance. Ilin also said ABC increased capacity at the beginning of the year and added more frequencies, including service to Helsinki, Los Angeles and Hanoi.
Presently, ABC operates scheduled flights to 26 destinations in 14 countries, using its fleet of fourteen 747s. The carrier is continuing to invest in its sales team, which serves customers in 20 major cities across the world. This year, ABC plans to invest more in its fleet, service quality, route network and its international team, as well as focus on cost management and optimization of processes.
