Even during prosperous times like the air cargo industry has had in 2018, predicting the future is a thankless and nearly impossible task. However, after polling our readers and analyzing the major moves made this year, Air Cargo World has created a short list of three air cargo executives who are expected to be very disruptive to the air cargo industry in 2019 and beyond.

This year, we have one executive who is relatively new to the cargo scene, Shawn Cole, vice president of Delta Cargo, but who has already made his mark on the industry; one who has been involved in domestic logistics for many years but has recently been thrust into the international spotlight, Wan Lin, who was appointed president of Alibaba’s Cainiao Network Technology earlier this year; and one legendary cargo titan whose name, Alexey Isaikin, is well-known in the industry, but is not someone who is often seen at conferences.

We think that, for various reasons, we will see much more of these threes influencers next year, as their companies are poised to make major inroads on the airfreight markets. Before they explode on the scene, here’s a chance to get to know them a little better.
