Guangdong Longhao Aviation Group (GLHA), a subsidiary of the diversified Longhao Group, has signed up for three 737-300 conversions from Jinan Shandong-based STAECO, a Pemco World Air Services (PEMCO) conversion partner. GLHA is a relative newcomer to the aviation sector. Its parent company, headquartered in Zhujiang Newtown in Southern China, is better known for its construction activity.
PEMCO reported that STAECO, one of PEMCO’s three conversion partners, will perform the conversions in Jinan Shandong. The aircraft are scheduled for redelivery in October. PEMCO is an aviation maintenance, cargo conversion and engineering company based out of Florida.
The 737-300 converted aircraft feature nine pallet positions, almost 20 tonnes of payload, 4,600 cubic feet of volume and a more than 2,000 miles of range. Since 2006, PEMCO has undertaken more than 50 737-300 and -400 freighter modification projects for Chinese operators.
