Ground handler SATS Ltd. handled 4.4 percent more airfreight year over year during the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2013, which ended March 31.
Meanwhile, SATS’ revenue dropped 3.2 percent year over year to US$434.6 million.
Revenue from gateway services increased by 1.1 percent to US$167.1 million on the back of modest growth in flights (6.7 percent) and airfreight handled.
For the financial year that ended March 31, SATS’ revenue declined 1.8 percent year over year to US$1.79 billion. Revenue from gateway services increased 4.5 percent to US$678.1 million due to growth in flights (9 percent) and airfreight (2.6 percent) handled.
SATS said its operating landscape remains challenging in view of rising costs and ongoing pressure on regional aviation. At Changi Airport, the handler expects marginal growth in airfreight.
