UPS Worldwide Express Freight has added 12 origin and nine destination countries to its network, providing more places for customers to ship urgent, time-sensitive cargo of more than 70 kg (150 pounds).
The new origins locations, where shipments can be picked up, include Chile, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Slovakia, Turkey and Vietnam. The new destination services, or countries where shipments can be delivered, include Chile, Indonesia, Israel, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Vietnam.
A spokesman for UPS said these locations were selected because they are key geographic markets that UPS needs to have a presence, based on sales and customer feedback.
“Our customers need it because of the speed for guaranteed palletized freight – speeds of one to three days to most locations globally,” he said.
The service to and from these new locations, allows customers to ship palletized cargo from door to door on specific days — including Saturday in some locations in the U.S. and Canada — with custom brokerage services included.
The new locations bring the total number to 50 origin and 51 destination countries and territories.
