Although both United Cargo and Continental Cargo already contained extensive road networks to feed airfreight, the United Cargo spokesman said Forward Air will take the company’s ground-handling services to the next level. After all, he said, Forward Air offers greater frequencies and destinations, as well as access to its 24/7 customer support team and shipment-tracking tools.
“For the past five years, Forward Air has delivered exemplary service to United Cargo’s customers as our primary trucking service provider in the eastern U.S.,” United Cargo President Robbie Anderson said in a statement. “We are very pleased to bring Forward Air’s unlimited capacity, proven reliability and innovative technology to our customers throughout the country.”
It’s a deal that will also benefit Forward Air, company president Bruce Campbell said. And he’s confident that his company will be able to meet United Cargo’s multifaceted needs.
“We will continue to provide United Cargo and its customers the same level of superior service that has been Forward Air’s hallmark, and we look forward to the opportunity to serve United Cargo’s entire U.S. expedited ground transportation market,” Campbell stated.
