UPS partners with blockchain company Inxception to launch B2B app

UPS and San Francisco-based technology company Inxeption are partnering to develop a blockchain-based platform for business-to-business (B2B) merchants, called “Inxeption Zippy.”

The companies’ joint statement cited data from market research company Forrester that said the B2B e-commerce market is projected to reach US$1.8 trillion by 2023, but added that many B2B merchants have been slow to move online.

The two-year-old tech company has a blockchain-centric service portfolio designed to simplify operations management, while still protecting the integrity of its e-commerce clients’ data. The new platform will also enable clients, such as manufacturers, distributors and wholesales, to market and distribute products on multiple online channels from one central location.

Farzad Dibachi, CEO of Inxeption, said the software targets “B2B merchants with limited digital marketing and IT resources,” and enables them to “easily manage all aspects of selling and shipping.”

UPS will bring its supply chain infrastructure and end-to-end shipment tracking to the collaboration. “The growth of e-commerce is driving B2B buyers to expect the same fast and convenient shopping experiences that consumers enjoy,” said Kevin Warren, chief marketing officer for UPS. “Working with Inxeption is another way we’re creating innovative solutions that helps small businesses deliver quality service for their customers and succeed in e-commerce.”
