An agreement between Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Jan de Rijk Logistics will enable the carrier to reach more than 50 airports in Europe using Jan de Rijk’s road feeder service. The three-year contract allows Virgin the ability to offer more destinations to its customers moving cargo on its flights into the United Kingdom from North America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
Jan de Rijk is certified in good distribution practices (GDP) and IATA’s CEIV Pharmaceutical handling standards. Jan de Rijk will be responsible for moving approximately 50 percent of the airline’s cargo into Europe. Virgin Atlantic also partnered with Cranleigh Freight Services on major trucking routes linking London to Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt and Paris, recently extending that contract by three years.
