ACI Air Cargo, a 3PL airfreight specialist, will operate the common-use half of the US$12 million Air Cargo Center at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport near Toronto. The cargo center is owned by the airport and was funded through a joint partnership between the federal and Ontario governments, along with TradePort International Corp. Hamilton’s municipal government also supported the project.
ACI will be responsible for all cargo handling services in the common-use section of the center, including bonded, e-commerce and temperature-controlled air cargo handling, as well as cross-docking and end-of-runway cargo services, which will allow companies to move critical items in time-sensitive situations.
The other half of the cargo center at Hamilton is occupied by CargoJet Airways, which has been the anchor tenant since March 2014. The entire facility measures 77,000 square feet, with ACI and CargoJet each occupying half.
