American Airlines announced changes in its senior leadership. Hashimoto is now senior vice president of regional carriers. Jim Butler (pictured above), who is now the managing director of commercial planning and performance, will replace Hashimoto as cargo president.
Suzanne Boda, who now serves as US Airways senior vice president, airport customer service, international and cargo, will be American’s new senior vice president, Asia, Canada, Europe and cargo. Butler will report to Boda.
These staff changes will be effective after American’s merger with US Airways closes and upon confirmation by the new board of directors.
Hashimoto had served as cargo president since May 2012.
Butler has more than 16 years of airline experience having served in numerous American Airlines roles including commercial planning and performance, Europe/Pacific finance, sales and revenue management.
Boda began her aviation career with Northwest Airlines in 1983 as a passenger service representative and Japanese interpreter at Northwest’s Minneapolis hub. She served as Northwest’s vice president, inflight services; vice president, customer service station operations and vice president, customer service. Boda has been with US Airways since 2007.
After the close of the merger, American Airlines and US Airways will continue to operate as separate airlines.
