Today, DB Schenker announced the launch of its new, digital “connect 4.0” shipping portal in the United States.
The connect 4.0 platform expands on the capabilities of DB Schenker’s current online platform, eSchenker, and now allows shippers to receive quotes for air or ocean shipments, and to book and track these shipments from pickup to delivery at all times. The new portal also offers a more user-friendly and intuitive interface, as compared to the existing platform, according to DB Schenker.
While the platform is designed to quote general cargo only, the system will support specialty and oversized cargo quotes by connecting the shipper to DB Schenker customer service teams who will then respond to the quote directly based on the requirements, a DB Schenker representative told Air Cargo World.
The platform originally launched in Europe last year.
More recently, DB Schenker’s parent company reported a jump in net financial debt and capital expenditures in its report on preliminary figures for the first half of 2019. DB Schenker itself saw some growth in its revenue, however.4 - Readers Like This Post
