Delta Cargo is further bolstering its reputation as a cool-chain cargo carrier with the introduction of CSafe RAP containers to its equipment offerings, appealing to pharma-shipping customers with the same kind of temperature-controlled containers that are used by carriers like United Cargo and Virgin Atlantic.
“Alongside our joint-venture partners, Air France-KLM Cargo and Virgin Atlantic Cargo, we can now offer our customers tailored pharma options across our broad trans-Atlantic network,” said Shawn Cole, vice president of cargo at Delta.
The containers are able to maintain a constant product temperature during exterior conditions of between -30°C and +54°C for up to 120 hours (five days). Each one can accommodate four standard U.S. pallets or five standard Euro pallets.
Delta has made investments in the pharma sector in the past year, expanding its Pharma 4 program, which offers four categories for temperature-sensitive shipments, e.g. prescription drugs and some biotechnology products. The carrier also holds IATA CEIV-Pharma certifications at 50 facilities internationally, including seven in Europe and one in Asia.2 - Readers Like This Post
