DHL officials believe this enhanced service portfolio will provide customers with more options when transporting goods. AsiaConnect, for instance, provides overnight LTL service from Singapore to Penang, Malaysia, and two-day shipments from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok.
AsiaLine, however, caters to the FTL market, providing domestic and cross-border transportation to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan, Singapore, and other nations served by DHL.
Finally, AsiaNet offers customers road transportation services tailored to their specific needs. With AsiaNet, DHL specialists examine their clients’ logistics processes and advise them on how to improve turnaround time, inventory control and load planning, DHL officials said.
DHL CEO for Africa and the South Asia Pacific Amadou Diallo points to the multiple customer service benefits of these new offerings. “Now consolidated into a single suite, and especially with the introduction of DHL AsiaConnect, our customers can choose the product best suited to their immediate needs,” Diallo said in a statement.
“With this suite of services, DHL is providing the fastest, most flexible and secure road option whether customers require a tailor-made road freight solution or simply want to send small shipments securely at an all-in rate price system,” Diallo continued. Small-and-medium enterprises, as well as business looking to improve their inventory management, will especially benefit from these new services, he stated.
DHL also plans to extend AsiaConnect to Vietnam, Cambodia and China in the future. This will complement the logistics company’s road freight business in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Diallo said.
