DHL eCommerce enabling next-day B2C food deliveries in Thailand

DHL eCommerce and Thai egg producer Kasemchaifood have partnered to deliver farm-fresh eggs sold through online channels directly to consumers, within 24 hours.

Before taking to the internet, Kasemchaifood relied primarily on a wholesale business model with a lengthier supply chain to distribute its eggs. Under the traditional business-to-business supply chain model, it would take anywhere from 3 to 7 days for eggs to reach the consumer as they passed from wholesaler to the supermarket.

Shipping eggs directly to customers within 24 hours is a task that requires more than just packing peanuts and strong tape. The two companies worked together to design special shipping containers to keep the precious cargo from cracking. DHL eCommerce also created a dedicated online tracking platform so that Kasemchaifood customers can track the last-mile of their egg deliveries.

DHL’s network allows Kasemchaifood’s eggs “to be delivered with special care – while meeting the demands of consumers with speedy, 24-hour delivery and shipment visibility,” said Kiattichai Pitpreecha, managing director of DHL eCommerce Southeast Asia.
