A new network of global forwarders has been created with the aspiration to include only the most respected firms in the logistics and transportation intermediary business. Elite Global Logistics Network (EGLN) has been founded by GLN network co-founder Roy Stapleton and former IATA cargo chief, Des Vertannes.
Members will be by “invitation only” and will share “the same commitment to quality and service, driven to be part of the most respected freight and logistics network that exists in the industry today,” according to the EGLN website. Members must be financially secure and privately owned.
The new group intends to “promote a strong network methodology that adheres to our aspirations of ongoing and continuous improvement in customer service, pricing and extolled unparalleled synergies for total customer satisfaction. Our customers dictate our objectives, and they will be met and surpassed,” the website states.
So far, the network includes approximately 150 freight forwarders. It has already planned its inaugural conference, to be held in October, in Bangkok.
