Luxembourg-based Cargolux Airlines has maintained its Good Distribution Practices (GDP) standing, passing its annual GDP surveillance audit. Cargolux became the world’s first GDP-certified airline in January 2014, when it confirmed its compliance with European GDP and World Health Organization requirements. The carrier’s Luxembourg hub is also GDP-certified.
GDP certification centers on the use of specialized equipment, pharmaceutical working procedures and handling expertise. Additionally, it recognizes that Cargolux operates a specialized fleet of 747Fs, with four independently controlled temperature zones and a team of cool-chain experts who are experienced in the handling of healthcare-related cargo.
