In a move to go paperless and update its system, Hawaiian Airlines Cargo switched to the new cloud-based IT operating platform, SmartKargo, in late June. The technology is said to create a 50 percent cut in the carrier’s overall transaction completion time.
Using a cloud-based operating system also creates the ability to distribute the program to mobile devices, which can increase the speed of information sent from the ramp and warehouse by eliminating many redundant paper processes. Customers also are able to use their mobile devices to book, track and trace shipments. Hawaiian is the first airline in the Americas to use SmartKargo.
