Nordic Global Airlines, a subsidiary of Finnair, will end operations at the end of the month due to depressed freight pricing, according to ch-aviation. The carrier’s fleet of four MD-11Fs is being transferred to Western Global Airlines, based in Sarasota, U.S.
Finnair has leased freighter capacity from Nordic Global primarily for Asian cargo frequencies, but will now carry more belly-hold cargo on its fleet of A330-300s and A350-900s.
Finnair Cargo owns 40 percent of Nordic Global.
