RiverOak Strategic Partners (RSP) is moving forward with its plans to develop Manston Airport (MSE) into a cargo hub. On Oct. 4 the group announced it is beginning the first stage of a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulatory process to secure approval for airspace use around the airport.
Beyond acquiring approval from the CAA to build infrastructure at the airport, RSP must also secure approval related to airspace use and operational procedures at the airport.
The company said it will initially work with local authorities, parish and aviation representatives to determine any safety, environmental and operational matters to produce airspace design principles, in line with CAA requirements. These principles will then be used to develop design options for the airport, which RSP said it will discuss with local residents, communities and stakeholders in 2020.
