More than six months after Oliver Evans announced that he will step down from his role as head of cargo at Swiss WorldCargo, the company has named its current head of global area management, Ashwin Bhat, to step in as Evans’ successor.
As of Oct. 1, Bhat will assume the duties of head of cargo, while Evans will move into the world of self-employment in the logistics business.
At age 46, the India-born Bhat joined Swiss WorldCargo in 2002, serving in various capacities in pricing, controlling and revenue management. In 2010, he was promoted to head of area management for the Asia, Middle East and Africa region. Two years later, he was given responsibilities for the Americas region before being named global head of area management.
Swiss CEO Harry Hohmeister called Bhat a “proven airfreight specialist,” and also thanked Evans for his 13 years of “outstanding work and performance.”
