- International aviation fuel supplier Air BP has entered the Tunisian sector by signing a Commercial and Technical Service Agreement with Tunisia’s AGIL (pictured above), the national company of oil distribution. The agreement includes service coverage at seven airports in Tunisia: Tunis Carthage, Djerba, Enfidha, Tozor, Tabarka, Monastir and Sfax.

- Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services, Inc. has entered into a heavy maintenance agreement with North American Airlines for light and heavy maintenance services. AMES completed the first in a series of planned A checks on NAA’s Boeing 767-300ER passenger jets in January.
- Dachser Transport of America, Inc., the U.S. division of a global logistics service provider, announced new enhanced service offerings designed to keep clients more competitive in the South Florida market and Latin America hubs. Dachser Miami has opened a Bonded Container Freight Station, I.B.E.C. and bonded warehouse.
- Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. has been selected by Sideral Air Cargo of Brazil (pictured left) to provide one B737-400SF 11 pallet configuration freighter conversion. The freighter is now the only 737-400SF operating in Brazil.
- Turkish Airlines has committed to order 40 737 MAX 8s, 10 737 MAX 9s and 20 Next-Generation 737-800 airplanes from Boeing, valued at $6.9 billion at list prices. The agreement also includes options for an additional 25 737 MAX 8s.
- Estes has converted its Rockford, Ill., terminal to a hub to enhance its Midwest next-day service. The Rockford hub will consolidate freight coming in from 19 terminals to build full loads for specific geographical regions. The hub also increases the number of next-day opportunities to Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.
- Volga-Dnepr Group has won the top prizes in two categories of the annual Wings of Russia National Aviation Awards. Volga-Dnepr Group received the award for the Best Business Project in Russian Civil Aviation in 2012, while Volga-Dnepr Airlines was named Airline of the Year – Cargo Carrier on Domestic and International Routes.

The cargo, which arrived from Europe onboard an Antonov AN-124, was made up of seven items that weighed 66 tonnes in total and included two oil pipes.

The new facility, which is on a secure 2.65 acre compound, will include 50,000 square feet of warehousing featuring eight truck docks, a cargo handling system, storage for 1,200 pallets and a large chiller for perishables.
