Turkish Cargo is adding Mexico City (MEX) to its freighter flight network – its eighth Latin American destination, and 19th destination in the Americas.

Beginning Oct. 3, the carrier will operate twice-weekly 777F flights to Mexico City International Airport (MEX). The first flight connects the carrier’s Istanbul (IST) hub to MEX via Madrid (MAD),  and returns  to Istanbul “following the route extending through Bogotá, Curacao and Maastricht from Mexico City.” The second flight will arrive in Mexico City via the connection flight from Madrid, and returns to Istanbul via Houston (IAH).

The carrier cites a demand for imports in the region such as petrochemical product, textiles, pharma and chemcials and expects to export cargo like flowers, produce, electronics and automotive products from the hub.

Turkish Cargo has been active in expanding its international presence lately – last week, adding three new destinations in the East Africa, Middle East region to its service network.
